Maha Wizaya Pagoda
Located on the Dhammarakkhita Hill which faces the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, Maha Wizaya Pagoda was built in 1980 to commemorate First Successful Congregation of the Sangha of All Orders, under one supervisory body. It was built from funds donated across the whole country. An image of the Buddha, a royal gift from the King and Queen of Nepal, is enshrined within the pagoda. The architecture of Maha Wizaya Pagoda is known as the combination of modern and traditional styles.
