This large White-Lined Gypsy moth is common throughout North America, but prefers drier climats where their population can explode. The feed on flower pollen. Their large size is comparable to a Hummingbird. The female Gypsy moth is larger than the male. The Gypsy moth can be destructive while in the larva stage as they forage on the new leaf growth of many tree species.
