Lophura nycthemera/The silver pheasant
Lophura nycthemera The silver pheasant is mainly found in mountains forests of mainland Southeast Asia. The male is black and white, while the female is mainly brown. The male bird was chosen as the symbol on the Chinese Mandarin square also known as a rank badge to manifest the rank of a Scholar.
