San Francisco`s Gold Rush era has this image of lawlessness, with the Barbary Coast, a specific nine block section, as its epicenter. Consisting of dance halls and saloons, jazz clubs and brothels, variety shows and concert shows the Barbary Coast was in fact a very colorful neighborhood during a very colorful period in San Francisco`s history.
