A paddle wheel, with Isle-on Sorgue - France
The natural energy of waters running of Sorgue encouraged the establishment of many industrial activities. The city counted to sixty-two paddle wheels installed on its channels. As of the 12th century of the mills are announced in the texts, to undoubtedly grind the wheat grains: but already at the next century industry clothier is attested, then at the end of the pontifical time the mills with paper, then silk and the ruby red one in Thor the wheel of Garancine located beside the footbridge testifies some.
