Geese are large, heavily built waterfowl from the Anatidae family swans, geese and ducks. In this they belong to the subfamily Anserinae swans and geese. Geese specialize in grazing and live more on land than other Anatidae. For this they have strong, rather long legs, which are placed in the middle of the body. This allows them to walk well. Two genera live in Europe: Anser Gray Geese and Branta Black and White Geese.
