The roman bridge, Cangas de Onis, Asturias, Spain

The Roman Bridge of Cangas de OnÃÂs Ã¢â¬âalso known as the `Puente Vieyu` or `PuentÃÂ³n`Ã¢â¬â is one of the best-known symbols of the Region of Asturias. Although this site is thought to have been used in Roman times to cross the Sella River, a factor possibly leading to the establishment of Cangas de OnÃÂs as the first capital of the Kingdom of Asturias, the current `Roman Bridge` dates from mediaeval times, probably from the late 13th century.
