The Old Roman Bridge or Ponte Antiga at low tide spanning the Gilao River in the picturesque town of Tavira in Portugal. Originally thought to have been built by the Romans, recent findings suggest it was built in the latter half of the 12th century during the Moorish period. The bridge has been rebuilt twice, after it collapsed in 1655 and when it was destroyed by flood in 1989.
