The Carassius auratus has a well proportioned anatomical structure with a rather tapered but robust body. All fins are moderately proportioned, with the caudal slightly bilobed. The mouth, rather small, is devoid of barbels, unlike that present in the carp, especially to which it resembles in the general form of the body
