A Cedar of Lebanon tree that has been struck by lightning in the Shouf Biosphere Reserve mountains, Lebanon
An ancient cedar, damaged by lightning, in the huge Shouf Biosphere Reserve in the Chouf Mountains of Lebanon. The reserve is home to wolves, hyenas, rare birds, flowers, cedar trees and rare insects. The hills are over 6,000 feet high. A very beautiful part of Lebanon. The rocky landscape is of weathered limestone.
