Maiden Tower - Qiz Qalasi- Baku

Tower of the Virgin or Maiden Tower Qiz Qalasi is a monument from the 12th century. With nearly 30m tall, it is part of the old city`s defense walls. It draws attention through the unique form of its plan. The walls have a thickness between 2 and 5 m. It is one of the symbols of the capital of Azerbaijan. It is now turned into a museum, part of the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List
