Burgh Island off the Devon coast basks in the early morning sun as the tide rises to cut it off from the mainland. The hotel is of a Art Deco design, it was built in 1929, the island that it was built on is cut off by the high tides, some of its famous guests were Agatha Christie, Noel Coward and George Formby to name but a few.
