Simon`s Town Methodist Church

This building, formerly called the Wesleyan Chapel, is the Methodist Church building in South Africa with the longest continuous use. there is one older Methodist Church building – the Settlers Church at Bathurst in the Eastern Cape, which is less than a year older than ours but for many years was not used. As the oldest church building in Simon’s Town our Church stands as a monument to tolerance, co-operation and goodwill, for it was used for divine service by the Anglican and Dutch Reformed communities of the town before their churches were built.
