Sand
SandÃÂ is aÃÂ granularÃÂ material composed of finely dividedÃÂ rockÃÂ andÃÂ mineralÃÂ particles. It is defined by size, being finer thanÃÂ gravelÃÂ and coarser thanÃÂ silt. Sand can also refer to aÃÂ textural classÃÂ of soil or soil type; i.e., a soil containing more than 85 percent sand-sized particles by mass.
