Memorial Orthodox cross in Sinai Monastery, Romania
Monastery Sinaia - Orthodox monastery in Romania. Founded in 1690ââ¬â1695 by a nobleman, Mihai Kantakuzino, after his pilgrimage to St. Catherineââ¬â¢s Monastery on the Sinai Peninsula, in honor of which the monastery he created received his name. Later, the city that formed around the monastery - Sinai - became similarly named.
