Dormillouse is an inhabited village at the heart of the Ecrins National Park, surrounded by mountains the Dormillouse peaks to the north and Les Mourinas to the south of altitudes over 3000 m, which discloses its architecture and its history throughout its `quartiers` or hamlets. This village perched up on the ice cap overhangs the impetuous waterfall. Its isolation enabled the Vaudois, the Ãâë damned by God Ãâû in the Middle Ages, to take refuge from persectution. Still today, you can only discover this village full of history on foot.
