Transport of a bull

The enormous block of stone, whose height was 4 to 5 meters, was placed on a wooden cart and held by a scaffolding, which men supported on each side with long poles. The cart was slid, as the masons still do today, on wooden rollers. It was lifted, to place the rollers, using levers that we see here at the back. On the front of the cart an engineer directs the maneuver. Workers carry emergency ropes. Notice down the countermeasures that strike the workers to advance them.
