Pieris A beautiful shrub discovered as a chance seedling at Sunningdale nurseries around 1946. It produces panicles of flowers from late autumn which open in spring to form drooping casades of small white pitcher shaped flowers. In addition and the reason it has this particular name are the flaming red new growths which cover the plant in spring and occasionally intermittently through the summer
