Picture is a monument to Charles Borromeo in the Milan Cathedral in Milan, Italy. He was Roman Catholic archbishop of Milan from 1564 to 1584 and a cardinal. He was a leading figure of the Counter-Reformation combat against the Protestant Reformation. He is honored as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. The center of the monument is a 1611 latin plaque that commemorates the re-consecration of the cathedral by the saint on October 20, 1577. Two allegorical figures by Pietro Daverio on either side of the plaque represent `Time` and `Eternity`. A bronze bust of the saint by Gian Andrea Biffi is above the plaque in the center.
