The Colonne de la Grande Armee is a memorial at Boulogne-sur-Merter in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte

In 1805, Napoleon came to Boulogne-sur-Mer with his Grande Armée, an army of nearly 200,000 soldiers with whom he wanted to invade England. Due to the defeat of the French fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar and the formation of a coalition against Napoleon in the rest of Europe, this invasion had to be canceled. In Wimille, the suburb where the Grande Armée was brought together, the construction of a column of 50 meters high was already started in 1804, on which stands the statue of Napoleon.
