Marazion is an ancient market town, chartered in 1257. It is from Marazion that you can cross the causeway at low tide to reach St Michael`s Mount, a smaller version of Le Mont St Michel in France. The gardens at the property contain many Mediterranean plants which thrive there because of the south-easterly aspect which protects them from winds and the heat-retaining stone walls and cliffs above them, which help them survive harsh winters.
