Black Swallowtail caterpillars on dill
Plump Black Swallowtail Papilio polyxenes asterius Stoll caterpillars getting ready for the next state of their life as a chrysalis. The jade green and yellow and black caterpillar holds on with tiny feet as it eats dill. They weave a thin strand of silk to hold them in place during the chrysalis stage.
