This specimen belongs to the genus Prunus, counting among the members of the rosaceae. In other towns it became popular as peach, so it happened with the Argentines, Bolivians, Chileans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, Mexicans, etc. Similarly, Venezuelans, Uruguayans, Peruvians and Paraguayans know their fruit as peaches. The Romans took the species westward, believing it was typical of Persia.
