Duranta erecta, also known as Taiwan Forsythia, is a plant used as a garden fence. For aesthetic reasons, it is cut off shortly after it has grown. Wu Zhuoliu, a famous Taiwanese writer, is a metaphor for Taiwanese under colonial rule. This flower is still everywhere, but the branches are everywhere!
