Loreta in Prague or Loreta for short is a Loreto chapel and also a whole set of baroque buildings on the eastern side of Loreto Square in Prague at Hradčany. The main representative facade of the square has a tower with a chimes, behind it is a courtyard lined with pilgrimage cloisters and the Church of the Nativity, which surround the central Loreto Chapel of the Virgin Mary. The area is connected by a covered corridor to the Capuchin monastery at the Church of Our Lady of Angels, who is the administrator of Loreta. The Loreto Chapel in Hradčany was founded at the Capuchin Monastery, which has been administering it since the beginning. The construction of the chapel began in 1626 and was consecrated on 25 March 1631. The construction was financed by Countess Benigna KateŠ™ina of Lobkowicz 1594–1653.
