A stature of King Louis XII on his horse was erected on the front facade of the Château Royal de Blois, located in the city centre of Blois, in the Loire Valley of France. A residence for several French kings, Joan of Arc was there in 1429 to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to battle the English.
