Monument on a mass grave in the village of Kudinovo, Kaluga region of Russia. Mass grave of Podolsk cadets who died in October 1941 during the defense of The Maloyaroslavets fortified district in the village of Kudinovo in the Maloyaroslavets district of the Kaluga region. On the left, the St. Nicholas Church is visible in the distance. The battle of the Ilyinsky line was one of the most important in the defense of Moscow during World war II. Podolsk cadets-commanders and cadets of Podolsk artillery and infantry military schools, in October 1941, heroically defended the borders on the South-Western approaches to Moscow: on the Warsaw highway, in the area of Yukhnov, Medyn, Ilyinsky, Maloyaroslavets, Detchino, during the battle for Moscow of the initial period of the great Patriotic war.
