Basilica del Santo in Padua. Illuminated by the sun near the sunset with the spiers, the central one with an angel, the bell tower and the statue of Gattamelata on horseback, immersed in the blue sky. Padua is a city in the Veneto region, known for Giotto`s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel, from 1303-05, and for the large 13th century Basilica of Sant`Antonio. The basilica, characterized by Byzantine-style domes and valuable works of art, houses the tomb of the saint to whom it is named. The University of Padua was founded in 1222.
