Pictured is a bronze sculpture titled `Gloria Victis`. The original was created in 1874 by Antoin Mercie, and there exist many castings. Gloria Victis means glory to the vanquished and it was intended to honor the French soldiers who fell in France`s defeat in the Franco-Prussian War.
