Mahishasuramardini cave temple is an essemble of Indian rock-cut architecture built in the late 7th century, of the Pallava dynasty. The temple is part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram and also the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is dedicated to the goddess Mahishasuramardini. In this bas-relief sculpture Lord Vishnu found in the reclining pose lying on a serpent in Mahishasuramardini cave temple.
