The Ferns or Filicophytes or Filicophyta are a sub-division of cryptogams vascular . They include about 13,000 species , the largest plant branch after the Angiosperms . About three-quarters of the species are found in tropical regions and a good proportion of these tropical ferns are epiphytes . Their reproduction methods confine them to wetlands.
