Dead fish on lake
Dead fish along the shorelines of a lake near Corbeanca, Ilfov county, Romania. The Chinese carp is an invasive species that overcrowds lakes and ponds. This species will feed on the lake`s vegetation and is dependent on the oxygen levels of the water. If the population is not properly harvested the fish will suffocate due to low plankton vegetation which further reduces oxygen supply. The example is relevant for the human-introduced non native species and poor management of the natural resources.
