The adorable Marmoset Monkey of Brazil
This very small but very cute monkey is only about 8 inches long. The Marmoset are more primitive than other monkeys; having claws rather than nails and tactile hairs on their wrists. Social and nimble creatures, they spend most their time high up in the upper canopy of forest trees with their family group feeding on insects, fruit, leaves, tack, sap and gum. I captured this little guy on the tropical island of Ilha Grande. He lives in one of the richest ecosystems in the world; the island being one of the most pristine remnants of Brazil's Atlantic rainforest.
