Plectranthus amboinicus, once identified as Coleus amboinicus, is a semi-succulent perennial plant in the family Lamiaceae with a pungent oregano-like flavor and odor. The origin of Plectranthus amboinicus is unknown, but it may be native to Africa, and possibly India.
