Moritzburg Castle is a castle in the German village of Moritzburg in Saxony, about 14 km northwest of Dresden. The castle was founded by Duke Móric of Saxony, but acquired its current Baroque appearance during the reign of August the Strong, designed by Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. The castle contains extensive collections of hunting trophies, as well as Chinese, Japanese and Meissen porcelain. There is also a so-called Federzimmer down room, ie a room with bed linen by August the Strong made of many lips of exotic birds. The famous fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella was filmed at this chateau.
