The tombs are carved into the granite rocks of the Dehesa de La Luz in the province of Cáceres. They are of late Roman and Visigoth age, centuries IV-VII. They are usually located next to large cattle villages or rustic villas. There are hundreds of these necropolises scattered across the granite ridge of Alto Extremadura in Spain.
