Bearded dragons originate from the deserts of Australia. They received their name for the distinctive scales under their chin that can turn dark brown or black as a response to stress or territoriality. The pointed scales on their sides and under their chin are not sharp but, rather, acts to deter predators. This bearded dragon just wanted to smile for the camera, sitting on its heated `rock` at the local rehab center. He is a permanent resident and animal ambassador.
