Reed Parrotbill scientific name: Paradoxornis heudei: body length 20 cm, weight 18-48 grams. The yellow mouth has a large mouth hook, the black eyebrow lines are prominent, the forehead, top of the head and the nape of the neck are gray, the upper edge of the black eyebrow pattern is yellowish brown and the lower edge is white. The upper back is yellowish brown, usually with black vertical stripes; the lower back is yellowish brown. There are narrow white eye circles. The central tail feathers are sandy brown, the rest are black and the feather ends are white. The center of the chin, throat and abdomen is nearly white, and the two sides are yellowish brown. The shoulders of the wings are thick yellow-brown, the flight feathers are lighter, and the third flight feathers are nearly black. The iris is reddish brown; the mouth is grayish yellow; the feet are pinkish yellow. It is a rare bird species unique to China. Because the living space of this kind of bird is limited to the reeds, and the number is too scarce, the Chinese lamented it as `the giant panda in the bird.`
