Pamukale in Turkey: Cotton Castle
Pamukalea mineral springs and pools Pamukalea`s white calcium travertines create a scene that is not easy to describe in words, and perhaps epithets like the amazing, unreal, alien suit him best. Translated from the Turkish language, Pamukale means Cotton Castle, which in fact best describes this natural phenomenon. There is also a legend according to which giants used to gather at these springs in ancient times to wash cotton, hence probably the name Pamukale.
