Grain Martello Tower is a mid-19th-century gun tower originally built in 1855 in preparation for an anticipated Napoleonic French invasion. It is situated offshore just east of the Isle of Grain Rochester Kent UK standing in the mouth of the River Medway and Thames Estuary opposite Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey. A further brick Barrack Block and Observation Tower was added before World War 2
