Borisovsky Pond. View to Orekhovo-Borisovo distrinct (Moscow, Russia)

The first mention of the pond in official documents dates back to 1600 - it was formed at that time by the decree of Boris Fedorovich Godunov as a result of the construction of the Tsareborisovskaya (Godunovskaya) dam. In the scribes of 1627-1628, the reservoir is marked as "Sovereign", with a stone dam and a mill. In the 17th-19th centuries, on the left side of the Borisov pond, there was a reserved forest, the Zarazy tract. Borisovsky and Nizhny Tsaritsynsky ponds were often called Tsareborisovsky, which is due to their belonging to the lands of the village of Borisovo. In 1860, merchant J.V. Gamson built a paper mill on the site of the mill.
