Sun Tunnels, Great Basin Desert, Utah
The Sun Tunnels is a land art project by Nancy Holt, the wife of Robert Smithson who created the Spiral Jetty. They are large concrete tubes laid out in an X shape designed to line up during the solstices, with holes to view four constellations. They are located in a remote area of the Great Basin Desert in northwestern Utah.
