Arizona: Beeline Highway Crossing Central Arizona Project Canal
In this Sonoran desert landscape - with saguaro cacti, chollas, palo verde trees and creosote bushes - Arizona state road 87 - Beeline Highway - crosses the CAP Canal, which is a major irrigation canal in central Arizona. The canal, nearly 50 miles (80 km) long, is the northernmost canal in the Salt River Project-s 131-mile (211 km) water distribution system.
