Popular Names: Dedaleiro, Mangava-brava, Louro-da-serra, Mangaba-brava, Copinho, Thimble, Pacuri, Copinho-dedal, Woodworm, Pacari, Candeia-de-caju, Mangabeira-brava. appear in spring and summer, with large, showy flowers with white and fringed petals, long stamens and a green cup, with pleated margins. The fruits are woody, dehiscent, tanned capsules, and their shape resembles a thimble. Seeds are membranous and numerous. Due to its small size, non-aggressive roots and ornamental flowering, the foxglove is widely used in urban afforestation in several municipalities in Paraná. Its planting is also recommended for the recovery of degraded areas and for the restoration of riparian forests. As it is not a pioneer species, it is interesting to carry out mixed planting or in years subsequent to the beginning of reforestation.
