Iarului Gorges is one of the wildest valleys that can be climbed on the top of Piatra Iorgovanului Peak - 2014 m. The Piule-Iorgovanu Mountains, known in the tourist literature as Retezatul Mic, are located in the southern part of the Retezat Mountains, whose southern ridge continues to the west, connecting with the Godeanu Mountains. In 1979 the Man and Biosphere Program of UNESCO included the National Park Retezat in the international network of biosphere reserve. Romania, Europe.
