Ring of Brodgar, Neolithic henge, Orkney

The last few remaining standing stones, at the ring of Brodgar, near Stenness, on the Orkney mainland. The ring is estimated to have been built between 2000 and 2500 bc, and taken hundreds of thousands of man hours to construct. The ring is now a UNESCO world heritage site, and has been since 1999.
