The Pied-billed grebe, Podilymbus podiceps, is a shy, easily frightened aquatic bird in wet lands areas throughout the Americas. Only areas where the lakes freeze, they migrate, choosing to migrate at night. Having a very strong bill, the Pied-billed grebe can easily eat small crustaceans, as well as small fish and aquatic plants. The interesting thing here is, they also eat their own fathers, as a way to help protect themselves from the small bones.
