Huntington Water Falls Golden Gate Park, 8.

San Francisco`s world famous Golden Gate Park is completely man made, and as hard to believe as it is, was originally just sand and sand dunes. John McLaren, the most famous of the parks superintendents, was friends with John Muir, the famous naturalists. It was actually Muirs idea to have a series of lakes and waterfalls in the park, to make it as natural as possible. And it was his idea to get Collis Huntington, the railroad magnet, to help pay for this, the first of two waterfalls, in the park. This one is on the island at Stow Lake. As seen 25 February 2022.
