The `60`s was a period of great cultural revolution around most of the world. One of the epicenters was San Francisco, and particularly the Haight Ashbury neighborhood. The hippies came at the time because of the Victorian houses, they were very cheap to move into at that time. One of those who came was a young singer/song writer named Janis Joplin. And one of the places she would just hangout was, under a particular tree at foot of the hill where all the hippies were. The hippies and Janis are long gone, but the hill is now named in their honor. And the tree Janis preformed under so often, is named in her honor. And, the adjacent field that was formerly named Sharon Meadow, is now Robin Williams Meadow, in his honor, too. As seen 6-7 April 2022.
