Gyldenløve fort (golden lion)

The fort was built in 1683 as a two-story brick tower with space for cannons on the second floor. It was attacked and taken by the Swedes under the leadership of Karl XII 8 December 1718. The fort was heavily damaged during the attack. It was rebuilt in a much larger and stronger version a few years later, but with about the same central tower.
